The same people who say shit like  the above (not DTWPS) are some of the same people who piss and moan about how homophobic Black folks are.

And here’s a Black man, the president of the US speaking about the multiplicity of acceptance of gay folks, and y’all just have to nitpick?

Look, I get it, I’m as skeptical of homonormativity and everything as anyone else. Shit, I’m even more so, because I am Black and Trans* and there is no way for me to even begin to be represented by the HRC and their like. But, that said, I say come the fuck on. Have your ish about homonormativity, but acknowledge this is a big fucking deal, to have a man who has admitted he is making his own journey to acceptance come out and say that it’s important actually be accepting. Not tolerating, but accepting.
